WOW Joggers

WOW (West Oxford Women) joggers is a beginners jogging group for women, brought to you by Fe-line Women, Active Women and Run England and it’s FREE!

What is WOW?

WOW joggers is a running group for women that have done little or no jogging before, but want to get out and do something active. The group is lead by Fe-line founder, Joanna Woodcock.

If you are feeling nervous about coming along, there really is nothing to be afraid of. Jo the group leader wasn’t a runner at all until 6 years ago and still finds it hard to get out on certain days.

Why WOW?

Exercising in a group is a great way to stay motivated, meet new people and gain confidence. We work hard but we also have a chance to have a chat, get to know each other and have fun. This group is all about getting fitter and wanting do a little bit more, we are here to help each other and encourage.

There are added incentives such as water bottles and t-shirts from Run England and Active Women for members who attend sessions regularly.

What we do

We do a 5 minute warm up, then 30-40 minutes of jogging and walking, followed by 5 minutes cool down and stretch.

The plan is to build this up over time and aim to all do the 5km Race for Life in Oxford together.

What people think

Kathy the first member of WOW joggers said: “WOW joggers is well worth coming out in the cold for! Feeling fab today and want more, more, more!”

Where and When?

We meet once a week on a Thursday evening at 6pm at the West Oxford Community Centre on Botley Road, OX2 0BT. There is plenty of parking, changing facilities, a place to leave your bags and toilets.

Bring water, a watch (if you have one) and a jumper for warming up and cooling down.
