Top of the swaps

With only a few days to go until the next Fe-line Frock Swapthe boot of my car is overflowing with clothes. Yesterday my task was to sort through what I have collected from friends. I am always amazed by the awesome stuff we get for the swap but I have to say this might be our best one ever and I haven’t even seen what the rest of you have to swap yet! We have Topshop tops, Oasis dresses, jeans, beautiful frocks and men’s shirts. There is a really good mix of sizes, genders and styles, there really is something for everyone.

The weather was so beautiful yesterday I thought I would take some pictures of what will be up for grabs on Saturday.

I love frock swapping

I love clothes swapping, FACT. Some people think it’s weird to wear other people’s used clothes but how many times have you bought something and then thought after one wear, “You know what, that is just not me.” Why just let it sit in the wardrobe when it could act as useful currency at a clothes swap?

This is why I am getting pretty excited about the next Fe-line Frock Swap on Saturday, 27th April. There is no denying it, clothes are expensive, but it is nice to have new things. I am not proud about these things and I am totally cool with wearing other people’s old clothes, be it from a charity shop, vintage or frock swap. I actually love it when I wear an outfit that cost me a total of about £3.50, it makes me feel proud of myself for being so thrifty.

One of my favourite frock swap outfits, starry dress, red cardigan and gold buckle belt.

What is also getting me pretty fired up is the new location of the Frock Swap. I have been waiting for a pub like The Big Society to arrive in Oxford for a while; a little bit kitsch and uber cool. It is not a dive and it is not pretentious, a lovely happy medium and a great place to hang out and play a little bit of Guess Who and enjoy an American style burger. We will be taking over the table tennis room for the Frock Swap, but go back and enjoy a little bit of ping pong another time!

So what will be happening at the frock swap? Well you bring along your good quality unwanted clothes, I will give you gold or silver tokens depending on the quality of your goods and then you swap like for like. It’s just £2 to get involved and all sizes, genders, ages and expensiveness of clothes, shoes and accessories are welcome!

And if all that wasn’t enough nail technician Vicky-Mae will be on hand to offer nail treatments to go along with you new clothes. Especially good if you are off out Saturday night!

For all the times, details, address etc please visit the event page.
