Dreams can come true

This is my last post about female blogging conference, Cybher. The last session I am going to share with you was called: How to get what you want. It was not technically about blogging but about how to achieve your dreams. Presented by business coach, Cathy Presland.
Cathy started this presentation by describing how trying new experiences keeps us young and will work the old reptile part of the brain. Change keeps us young physically and emotionally, we just need to know how to do it.
It was good to hear Cathy say that entrepreneurs think differently to corporate types. Entrepreneurs, apparently, are more adaptable, flexible and respond to circumstances. Using the SMART method of setting objectives will jar with entrepreneurs. At this point in my notebook I have written: “hell yeah”, this was music to my ears.

Cathy then went on to describe her seven principles for achieving your dream here they are:
-
Be specific, clear and bold about what you want.
It is OK not to fully believe it at this stage. It is OK to have an idea that an idea is bigger than us.
-
Feel it.
Translate ambition to how it would feel. For example if you want to feel satisfaction of helping people. What will that do for you, what is the internal feeling.
-
Say it loud.
Or write it down. You are less likely to achieve something if you don’t say it.
-
Small steps
Make your achievement a gradual progress, write down all the small milestones and write down what you are going to achieve this week.
-
Prove it to believe it
-
No one does it alone
-
Celebrate every step
Write down the things that you did today towards your goal and celebrate them.
